One of the options for guaranteeing the security of Ukraine in the status of a neutral state might be the placement of weapons warehouses in the country under the supervision of an international commission. This was stated by ex-adviser to the office of the President of Ukraine Alexey Arestovich.
“In short, one of the options might be this: the signatory countries, including Russia, place weapons warehouses on our territory, which will be sealed and will be under the supervision of an international commission. The weapons might be used for defense following consultation with the signatories in the event of an attack on Ukraine.
You can come up with and consider many other options for real guarantees. There would be a desire. The main criterion is that these are real opportunities to protect ourselves, and that we retain our subjectivity, not relying only on the good will of other states,” Arestovich writes in his Telegram channel.
Arestovich’s proposal has already been appreciated on social networks.
