In their first outing of the year, Gualaceo SC fell once morest Mushuc Runa (2-1) at the Echaleche stadium this Sunday, March 5, 2023.
The Azuayos opened the scoring through Andrés Campás (15′). The center-back took advantage of a corner kick from Joaquín Vergés that Santiago González pivoted to the misfortune of the locals.
About half an hour into the game, Tobías Donsanti’s injury disrupted the initial plan of Professor Leonardo Vanegas. In the absence of the Colombian Olmes García (he is not qualified) Henry Patta entered in place of the Argentine center forward.
The lack of contention in the midfield charged the Gualaceño defenders with responsibility. In a quick exit from Ponchito, Bruno Téliz recovered a ball in the middle of the field, gained meters and selflessly handed over Wilter Ayoví who entered the area alone to score the equalizer (31′).
In the second stage, Geovanny Cumbicus benched Nigerian Jimmy Evans for Marco Carrasco. The African had a clear opportunity in the first half, but Walter Hinostroza drowned out the goal cry.
Just 12 minutes was enough for Carrasco to justify his admission. He wove a play on the left with Bagner Delgado and when he was left alone once morest Hinostroza’s goal, he did not forgive and scored the winning goal (58 ‘).
Vanegas refreshed lines with the income of Jean Carrión (Joaquín Vergés), Byron Angulo (Tomson Minda) and Stalin Morocho (Jesús Preciado). At times he put the rival in his territory, he had the tie, but a cross from Angulo went to kiss the parent and did not alter the score. Then the Azuayos lost the script. Jorge Góngora received the second yellow card and was sent off (90+3′).
With this result, both teams are in the middle of the table with three units.
On March 10 Gualaceo SC will host Orense and on March 11 Mushuc Runa will visit Guayaquil City as part of the third date of the LigaPro Serie A.
