While the world of video games is awaiting the verdict on the takeover of Activision-Blizzard by Microsoft, we learn that GTA might become a PlayStation exclusive.
For more than a year, the video game sector has been in turmoil. Microsoft had indeed announced the takeover of Activision-Blizzard for the consequent sum of 69 billion dollars. Nevertheless, nothing is played, since the purchase is still not validated by the regulators. They seek to avoid the disastrous consequences that the deal might have on the video game industry. And serious repercussions are looming. A few days ago, Microsoft announced its intention not to renew the Call of Duty deal with PlayStation. It doesn’t take long to learn a rumor to the contrary: GTA might become a PlayStation exclusive.
Sony plans to buy Take-Two Interactive, if Microsoft buys Activision-Blizzard
After signing a long-term contract with Nintendo to release the Activision-Blizzard games there, Microsoft wants to play a trick on its eternal competitor Sony, by withdrawing the flagship Activision games. If it is still difficult to imagine how such a thing might happen, Sony is already preparing the response.
According to a rumor that has been circulating for a few days, if the regulators were to validate the takeover of Activision-Blizzard by Microsoft, Sony will acquire Take-Two Interactive. It’s the video game company that owns Rockstar Games best known for GTA et NBA 2K. The rumor comes from the very knowledgeable Rythian on Twitter.
We are thus tending towards a fierce struggle in terms of video games. If Microsoft gets its hands on the coveted Callf of Duty, Sony will respond by grabbing GTA 6, the most anticipated game of the year.

$20 billion and PlayStation exclusive for GTA 6
Valued at 19 billion dollars, Rythian announces that Sony might afford Take-Two Interactive for $20 billion. Even if the amount advanced seems reasonable, it is certain that the acquisition of Take-Two Interactive will be more expensive, but not impossible to Sony. The latter remains to this day the most influential in the sector. He is still aware that the acquisition of Activision-Blizzard might seriously swing things on Microsoft’s side.
By offering GTA 6, Sony would get their hands on a highly anticipated game that still has a bright future ahead of it. Japanese society might find the necessary inspiration and take it to a much higher level. Sony has more than one trick up its sleeve and will not hesitate to hit where it hurts, much to the chagrin of Xbox gamers.
Nevertheless, we must still take a step back, since the rumor peddled is not yet confirmed by other industry analyses. And there is no doubt that Microsoft’s deal will soon be approved by regulators. In this case, will these allow Sony to make GTA 6 exclusive to PlayStation ? We are waiting to see!
