Game news GTA 5 Gameplay 4K: More beautiful than ever on PS5?
While the game first launched on PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2013, Grand Theft Auto V is getting a third release on PS5 and Xbox Series this March 15. On this occasion, we were able to play this next-gen version a little early and we invite you to discover the introduction of the game through a gameplay extract in 4K.
Far from being confined to its more than 160 million copies sold since its initial launch, Grand Theft Auto V is now entitled to its upgrade on PS5 and Xbox Series. Among the main new features: a 4K resolution, a framerate of 60 frames per second, or even reduced loading times. For this, the next-gen experience offers three display modes. First of all, the Loyalty mode displays a native resolution in 4K with Ray-Tracing but a frame rate of 30 frames per second on PS5 and Xbox Series X, while the Xbox Series S is only entitled to a resolution in 4K upscaled, i.e. stretched. Then, we find the performance mode which allows to offer a rendering in 60 frames per second with an upscaled 4K resolution, while the Xbox Series S is satisfied with a resolution in 1080p.
In the snippet you can see above, we preferred to play in Performance RT mode. This is a type of display exclusive to the PS5 and the Xbox Series which offers a hybrid solution with an upscaled 4K resolution, a frame rate of 60 frames per second and Ray-Tracing. Thanks to the technical capacities of the PS5 and the Xbox Series which are finally properly exploited, Grand Theft Auto V on consoles is finally approaching the rendering that we can have on the PC version of the game, released in 2015, we recall. The opportunity to rediscover the introduction of the game which remains just as effective in terms of narration, eight years later. We start with the failed robbery of Trevor and Michael, followed by the fake burial of Michael, before finding the latter during a session at the shrink in Los Santos, the place where all the action of the game will take place. Michael meets Franklin who, with his friend Lamar, is regarding to take over the vehicle of a customer who is unable to pay to return it to his dealer, who is a little trickster on the edges.
