Already launched at the end of last year, the rumor around the remaster of GTA 4 continues. Today, it is XFire which publishes an interview with Matheusvictorbr who seems to have information on this subject.

After Grand Theft Auto : The Trilogy – The Definitive Editionit would seem that a remaster of Grand Theft Auto IV either in the pipes of Rockstar. During a long interview with XFire during which the user Matheusvictorbr talks mainly regarding the content of GTA VI, it also indicates that the studio has plans to release a remaster of the fourth installment. Like GTA III, it wouldn’t be on its own but would be released as a bundle with two other games that would also benefit from the facelift.
If this rumor were to be confirmed in the future by Rockstar, it must be recognized that a port of this title on modern consoles would allow more people to know it: it was released in April 2008 on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 and n did not benefit from exporting to other consoles like its little brother. Nevertheless, we can legitimately understand that the studio is cautious. GTA 3 Definitive Edition, released last November, did not receive the best of receptions.
GTA 4 remaster: a rumor that is not new
Of course, this rumor is to be taken with a grain of salt. Already last November, it was the twitter user @RalphsValve who shared a photo of the logo of this so-called GTA 4 remaster. He then indicated that it was planned for 2023 and would be accompanied by its two extensions: The Lost and Damned et The Ballad of Gay Tony. He would have obtained this information from an insider.
It is therefore natural to be wary of the words of Matheusvictorbr. It only repeats the information already distilled by RalphsValve without added value: no details or additional evidence. In any case, if such a project is actually in preparation at Rockstar and from the stronger planned for 2023, it is clear that we will not have to get our hands on GTA 6 anytime soon.
