This week we saw the launch of Grand Touring 7 on PlayStation 5, one of the most anticipated deliveries by fans of motorsports and racing simulators. Although Polyphony Digital promises us the best experience of the series to date, gamers noted that the price of microtransactions increased considerably between GT Sport and Gran Turismo 7.
Gran Turismo 7 is now available on PS5 for a price of $70 USD, but the game features microtransactions to purchase in-game credits that are used to purchase cars. Although this practice is already common in recent AAA releases, the price of the cars can become too high, so an impatient player will prefer to buy credits than earn them little by little in-game.

Gran Turismo 7 offers four packages to acquire credits within the game, which are as follows: 100,000 credits for $2.49 USD; 250,000 credits for $4.99 USD; 750,000 credits for $9.99 USD; 2,000,000 credits for $19.99. Unlike the new installment, Gran Turismo Sport it let players buy individual cars as microtransactions, with prices ranging from $0.99 to $4.99 USD each.
Gran Turismo 7 cars have prices ranging from a few tens of thousands of credits to the millions. The Porsche 919 Hybrid 16, which is priced at $2.99 USD in GT Sport, can be purchased for 3,000,000 Credits in Gran Turismo 7, which would set you back $34.97 USD in Credit Packs, more than ten times what we would have paid in the last installment.

As you will notice, there is no option to purchase 1,000,000 credits directly from the store, but a large number of Gran Turismo 7 cars have this price in-game. In these cases, the option for players is to buy a package of 750,000 and one of 250,000 for $15 dollars, or go for the 2,000,000 credits package for $20 dollars. During a State of Play of Gran Turismo 7 we had been able to see that the legendary cars would have a cost of up to 20,000,000 creditsfor what you would have to spend $ 200 USD for a car.
