Raphaela Veit is the new club chairman in the 18th district at the beginning of September, succeeding Marcel Kneuer, who is handing over the function as club chairman following 20 years.
Vienna (OTS) – Mag.a phil. Raphaela Veit, born in 1983, is an elementary teacher and has been passionately committed to a green Währing that is worth living in as a district councilor for 13 years: From greening tree pits to supporting community gardens and implementing educational projects, her path led from the opposition to the design of a people-friendly one district in the district leaders party.
“When I moved to Währing around 15 years ago, it was clear to me that the 18th district is absolutely worth living in, but that the green area should be expanded and made safer for families with children,” says Veit, and continues: ” In our district, I can see the positive impact of green politics in my immediate environment. Our politics has a role model effect – that motivates me and I’m looking forward to many great green projects in Währing in the future! the expansion of cycle paths.
In the last 20 years, Marcel Kneuer has significantly shaped Währing in the direction of a bicycle-friendly and climate-friendly district and successfully led the Green Währing from the opposition to the district leaders’ party. “Through his commitment and perseverance, he has achieved many improvements for the people of Währing – more space thanks to the parking sticker, safer routes to school, better bike connections and much more. I’m following in big footsteps and I’m very happy that Marcel will stay with us as district councilor in Währing,” says Veit, who is also chairwoman of the district development commission.
