കല്ലട അമ്പലം കണ്ട് അമ്മമ്മയെ കാണാൻ പോയ വഴികൾ. അവിടെയൊക്കെ സഞ്ചരിച്ചിട്ട് കാലം ഏറെയായി. ഗ്രുഗാ പാർക്കിന്റെ പരിസരം ഏതാണ്ടൊരു വനം തന്നെയാണ്. കൗതുകകരമായ സംഗതി എസ്സെനിൽ നഗരത്തിനരികിൽത്തന്നെ ഇടതൂർന്ന കാടുകൾ ഉണ്ടെന്നുള്ളതാണ്. റൈൻ, റൂർ നദികളുടെ ഇഷ്ടദാനമായിരിക്കാം ഈ പ്രകൃതി. ഇരുണ്ട അന്തരീക്ഷമാണ്. കാട്ടുമൃഗങ്ങളെ ഒന്നും കാണില്ല. പക്ഷികളുടെ കോലാഹലമുണ്ട്. ഗ്രുഗാ പാർക്കിന്റെ പരിസരം ഏതാണ്ടൊരു വനം തന്നെയാണ്. കൗതുകകരമായ സംഗതി എസ്സെനിൽ നഗരത്തിനരികിൽത്തന്നെ ഇടതൂർന്ന കാടുകൾ ഉണ്ടെന്നുള്ളതാണ്. റൈൻ, റൂർ നദികളുടെ ഇഷ്ടദാനമായിരിക്കാം ഈ പ്രകൃതി. ഇരുണ്ട അന്തരീക്ഷമാണ്. കാട്ടുമൃഗങ്ങളെ ഒന്നും കാണില്ല. പക്ഷികളുടെ കോലാഹലമുണ്ട്. ജർമനിയിൽ വിഷപ്പാമ്പുകളില്ല എന്ന് നാദിയ തീർത്തു പറഞ്ഞിരുന്നു. അതുകൊണ്ട് പേടിക്കാതെ നടക്കാം. പക്ഷേ അപകടകാരികളായ ഒരിനം ചിലന്തികൾ ഉണ്ടെന്നാണ് പറയുന്നത്. അത് ശരീരത്തിൽ കയറി വിഷക്കൊമ്പുകൾ താഴ്ത്തും. ഈ കൊമ്പുകൾ പുറത്തെടുക്കാനുള്ള ചെറിയ ഉപകരണം ഒട്ടുമിക്ക പേരുടേയും വാലറ്റുകളിൽ ഉണ്ടാകും. ഈ വിഷച്ചിലന്തികളെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള ഓർമ കൊണ്ടാവണം കേരളത്തിലെത്തുന്ന യൂറോപ്യർ നമ്മുടെ എട്ടുകാലികളെ കാണുമ്പോൾ ജീവിവർഗങ്ങളുടെ ആവാസകേന്ദ്രമാണ് ഞങ്ങളുടെ വീടും പറമ്പും. മകൾ വലിയ ചിലന്തിയെ കണ്ടതും പേടിച്ചതും അക്കാര്യങ്ങൾ വീട്ടിൽവന്ന് വിശദീകരിച്ചതുമെല്ലാം നാദിയയുടെ അമ്മ എന്നെ പറഞ്ഞു കേൾപ്പിച്ചു. ജർമൻ ഭാഷയിലാണ് പറയുന്നത്. എന്നാലും മുഖത്തെ ഭാവഹാവാദികൾ കൊണ്ട് മനസ്സിലാക്കാൻ പ്രയാസമില്ല. ഉച്ചസന്ദർശനത്തിനെത്തുന്ന കീരികളെക്കുറിച്ചും, മുറ്റത്തെ മാവിന്റെ ചാഞ്ഞ കൊമ്പിലേക്ക് ഊർന്നിറങ്ങി വന്നു ചിലയ്ക്കുന്ന അണ്ണാൻകുഞ്ഞിനെക്കുറിച്ചും അവൾ തന്റെ അമ്മക്ക് റിപ്പോർട്ട് ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. വസന്തകാലം കഴിഞ്ഞ് വേനൽ തുടങ്ങുന്ന സമയത്താണ് ഞാൻ ജർമനിയിൽ എത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. നടക്കാൻ ഏറെ പ്രേരണ നൽകുന്ന കാലാവസ്ഥ. വേനലാണെങ്കിലും നമ്മൾ ഇന്ത്യക്കാർ പ്രത്യേകിച്ചും പുതുതായി എത്തുന്നവർ ഒരു കോട്ടോ സെറ്ററോ ധരിക്കേണ്ടി വരും. പ്രകൃതി അതിസമ്പന്നയായി അണിഞ്ഞൊരുങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു. ചെടികളും മരങ്ങളും ആർത്തുല്ലസിച്ചു പൂക്കുന്നു എന്നതാണല്ലോ യൂറോപ്യൻ വസന്തത്തിന്റെ സൗഭാഗ്യം. വൻമരങ്ങൾ മുതൽ ചെറിയ പുല്ലുകൾ വരെ പൂക്കും. തണുത്ത അന്തരീക്ഷമായതുകൊണ്ടാവണം എല്ലാ പൂക്കൾക്കും കടുത്ത നിറമാണ്. നടക്കുന്ന വഴിയരികിലെ ചെടികളെല്ലാം പൂത്തിരിക്കുകയാണ്. കുഞ്ഞു നക്ഷത്രങ്ങൾ പോലെയുള്ള പൂക്കൾ നീട്ടി നിൽക്കുന്ന പുൽനാമ്പുകൾ കൗതുകമുണ്ടാക്കുന്നുണ്ട് .
