The growth of the national economy should consolidate at 2.6% in 2023 and accelerate to 3.5% in 2024, forecasts Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM).
« According to Bank Al-Maghrib projections drawn up on the basis of data available as of March 10, 2023, economic growth would mark a consolidation this year at 2.6%, the result of an increase in agricultural value added of 1.6%. in 2023 and the slowdown in non-agricultural activities with an increase in their added value of 2.7%“, indicates the Central Bank in a press release published at the end of the first quarterly meeting, for the year 2023.

These projections assume a cereal harvest of around 55 million quintals, specifies the Central Bank.
All in all, following a sharp deceleration to 1.2% expected in 2022, the growth of the national economy should consolidate at 2.6% this year and accelerate to 3.5% in 2024.
