“Group violence”, the shocking story and the complaint –

The Spanish national police have arrested four young Italians for an alleged gang rape in Playa de Palma, on the island of Mallorca. The events took place in the early hours of Sunday, between 2 and 6 in the morning. According to the Spanish public television Tve, the girl met one of the boys on the seafront and had consensual sex with him on the beach. Subsequently, they allegedly moved to the apartment that the alleged attackers had rented. Once they arrived there, the other three boys sexually assaulted the young woman.

The investigating judge of Palma de Mallorca ordered the provisional detention of the four young people. According to what transpires, the victim met one of the tourists in a nightclub on the Paseo Maritimo of the Balearic capital, they liked each other and agreed to move to the apartment where the young man was staying, in Playa de Palma. In this accommodation, which the man shared with three friends, the young woman and he had consensual sexual intercourse, but then other guests entered her room and allegedly raped her by holding her down and forcing her. The complainant left the tourist facility after taking the passport of one of the attackers and she went with him to a police station where she reported the incident. In accordance with the protocol for sexual violence cases, the national police transferred the victim to a medical center.

Based on the young woman’s testimony, investigators gathered information, located the accommodation of the accused and proceeded to arrest them before they left the island, which they had planned to do on Sunday. The four tourists were brought to court this morning as alleged perpetrators of a crime of sexual violence and the judge on duty ordered them to be detained without bail.
