The oral court investigating the case of the six accused of the gang rape of a young woman committed just over a year ago in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Palermonow ordered a ban on contact with the victim and her family nucleus, following a suspect sent her, from prison, a video through the social network Instagram.
Is regarding Thomas Fabian Dominguez, the young man arrested for the group rape that occurred in February 2022.
The decision was announced through a four-page ruling in which his request to provide a television interview that had been requested by his defense was also denied.
In the substantiation, the judicial authorities argued that it is to “preserve the integrity of the victim and avoid hindering the investigation“.

“We understand it pertinent to order a prohibition of contact with the victim and his family nucleus by the defendant Thomás Fabián Domínguez by any means -namely: any telematic means, telephone, whatsappmail, Instagram, Facebook, or any other social network or other form of contact-, until the criminal process is completed,” said Télam.
Jorge Alfonso, Domínguez’s defense attorney, had asked the court for authorization for the defendant to give a journalistic interview from prison for later televising. A request to which the complaint was opposed because it might imply a “severe affectation of the psyche” of the young victim.
For their part, the victim’s lawyers, Hugo Figueroa and Osvaldo Cantoro, had also denounced that the young woman suffered “harassment” throught social media.
However, prosecutor Francisco Figueroa ruled that sufficient “records” had not been provided to verify the existence of these facts.
Consequently, the TOC ordered that the complaint resort to the complaint route in the pertinent jurisdiction to be investigated.
