Groundbreaking ceremony for a huge photovoltaic system in the Vöcklabruck district

The Schwanenstadt energy supplier KWG is building one of the largest photovoltaic systems in the Vöcklabruck district on a railway embankment in Schlatt. It has a planned peak output of 1,000 kilowatts and can supply around 400 households with electricity.

The municipality of Schlatt provides the land for the solar power plant and in return receives part of the electricity yield. “We will be able to cover the entire municipality’s electricity needs,” says Schlatt’s mayor Christian Mader (ÖVP). At the ceremonial groundbreaking ceremony, he and KWG managing director Peter J. Zehetner symbolically planted a tree.

From the current perspective, commissioning can take place in spring.
