Vienna – She hasn’t gotten lost yet, on the contrary. The excitement surrounding the “time change” that the Vienna City Marathon (VCM) made on the occasion of its 41st edition last Sunday continues. As a reminder: At the VCM this year, for the first time, the gross time from the starting signal was used for an official list of results not only for the elite, but for all participants. And not, as before, the net time measured with the chip from the start line to the finish line. As a result, quite a few people had the impression that they had been deprived of a better (official) result. The VCM organizers emphasized and did not want to hide the fact that the chip time is also signposted along with the associated net placement – but this is initially secondary and not ranked.
