NEW YORK (AP) — Luke Kennard scored a season-high 25 points and the Memphis Grizzlies ended a five-game losing streak with a 106-102 victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Monday night.

Jake LaRavia added 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Grizzlies, who outrebounded the Nets 51-33 and racked up 25 second-chance points to make up for the offensive production they’ve lost due to injuries. Lamar Stevens contributed 13 points.

The Nets had won 111-86 in Memphis on Feb. 26, allowing the fewest points of the season to earn their first victory under interim coach Kevin Ollie. They were not as good this time on defense and were much worse on offense, which added to their problems with a terrible aim with 17 of 30 (56.7%) in free throws.

Nic Claxton had 21 points for the Nets, who were coming off consecutive victories over Atlanta that had placed them two games behind the Hawks for 10th place in the Eastern Conference and the last berth for the play-in tournament. But leading scorer Mikal Bridges, who scored 38 points on Saturday, was 4 of 14 on Monday and only scored 14 points.

The game was tied at 88 before Stevens made the next two baskets and one more from Kennard made it 94-88. Claxton ended Brooklyn’s slump, but Vince Williams Jr. scored and Kennard hit his sixth 3-pointer to pull away 99-90 with three minutes left.
