In the semi-finals, Dimitrov, seeded 18th, will face the winner of the match between Russian Andrey Rublev and Frenchman Hugo Hombre, for a place in the final match on Sunday.
Rublev, ranked seventh in the world, is considered the only player among the top ten who is still competing in the Shanghai tournament following several surprises that led to the exit of the most prominent world rankings.
The balance was equal between the players in the first set, before Dimitrov imposed his superiority once morest the 22nd seed in the tie-break, leading 5-1 and then 6-2.
The 32-year-old Bulgarian, who is looking for his first title in the professional tournaments (ATB) since winning the final Masters tournament that brings together the eight best players in the world in 2017, decided the tiebreak in the set following a ball from Jhari into the net.
Dimitrov, who caused a huge surprise by eliminating Spaniard Carlos Alcarras, ranked first in the tournament, broke in the eighth final, in the seventh game of the second set, while he requested a medical time-out to treat his right shoulder.
The Bulgarian continued his progress, decisively winning the set, as the match ended following an hour and 39 minutes.
Polish Hubert Hurkacz, sixteenth, will play American Sebastian Korda in the other semi-final on Saturday.
