Jimmy Koliakoudakis’ mother died more than six months ago and she will not be buried until August 30. “For us, it’s a disgusting situation. The families, we had no respect in this whole situation, ”says Jimmy Koliakoudakis.

“It’s a second mourning, it’s difficult. I have spoken with members of other families and they are having nightmares. What we had to experience in January, February and March, we will experience the same things once more in August and September, ”he laments.

Maintenance of graves and facilities continues at Notre-Dame-des-Neiges Cemetery.

“The work is going well. There are still many things to do. However, we are more than 70% away from picking up and securing the scene. We are on schedule. The teams are at work intensively in order to finalize everything for a reopening very soon, ”assures Michel St-Amour of the Fabrique of the parish of Notre-Dame de Montréal.

Families have been waiting for more than seven months to pray at the graves of their loved ones.

The Notre-Dame-des-Neiges Cemetery is scheduled to open on September 11.
