SERIES – The iconic couple is making a comeback to the delight of fans of Grey’s Anatomy. Jesse Williams and Sarah Drew put on their surgical gowns once more for an episode that will first air on May 26 on American television, announces the Deadline site.
Jackson Avery et April Kepnerformed a couple particularly appreciated by the spectators of the series Grey’s Anatomy before their departure in season 17. A new chapter in their love affair will therefore see the light of day on the ABC channel, enough to delight the many fans of the medical drama created by Shonda Rhimes in 2005.
Jesse Williams left the show in 2021, following first appearing on the show during the sixth season. For her part, actress Sarah Drew had said goodbye to the ABC show in 2018 before making an appearance in season 17 to conclude part of the story of the “Japril” couple.
The last time viewers enjoyed the duo, Jackson made the choice to leave Seattle to live in Boston to focus on his family foundation. April had then agreed to follow him in order to raise their daughter Harriet together.
How to follow season 18 in France?
In the columns of Deadline, the actor who lends his features to Jackson revealed some clues regarding this return in the final episode of the 18th season. ”In my opinion, he will have experienced many obstacles on his way to success in his career […]. But he has finally found a place for himself which is not just his profession,” he says. “I think it’s quite possible that he is looking to regain a romantic relationship with his ex-wife,” adds Jesse Williams.
For fans still hoping for a spin-off dedicated to the duo, it will still be necessary to be patient. However, a season 19 of Grey’s Anatomy has already been ordered and there is no indication that “Japril” will not be there.
Broadcast in France on Amazon Prime, the series suddenly disappeared from the streaming platform on Thursday, April 21. “We understand the frustration over not being able to watch Grey’s Anatomy for free on Prime Video and we apologize for that. Our catalog changes from time to time [..] do not hesitate to check later”, has also indicated in this regard the streaming platform on Twitter in response to a disgruntled English-speaking viewer.
To follow this season 18 while waiting for a possible return to Amazon Prime, you must now turn to Canal +, with a purchase of each episode in addition to the subscription or follow the weekly broadcast every Wednesday on TF1which is currently airing season 18 since March 30.
