Greyhound Crash Reported to Phoenix Leaves At Least 13 Injured – NBC 7 San Diego

BANNING, Calif. – At least 13 people were injured Friday when a Greyhound bus had a flat tire and collided with a sport utility vehicle and a lane divider barrier on Interstate 10 in Cabazon, a Riverside County community in California.

A total of 33 people were aboard the bus when it crashed in Banning, regarding 90 miles (145 kilometers) east of Los Angeles, while en route from Los Angeles to Phoenix on Interstate 10, said Police Officer Jason Montez. California Highway Patrol.

All 13 people were taken to hospitals, but only one of the injured suffered a serious injury, believed to be a fracture, the rest were minor injuries, Montez said.

Two of the injured were in a Mitsubishi that was hit by the bus and the other 11 were bus passengers.

The bus was traveling 60 to 65 mph (96 to 105 kph) when its left front tire blew out, veering to the left and striking the Mitsubishi.

Bus passengers who were not injured were taken to a tribal hall on the Morongo Indian Reservation.
