The young Swedish environmental leader Greta Thunberg was arrested this Tuesday in Germany along with other people during a protest once morest the expansion of a coal mine in the west of the country. The protesters were arrested following they “split from the demonstration” and ran to the edge of an open well.
“The group is detained,” a police spokeswoman confirmed to the AFP site. In some photos released, the activist dressed in black is seen being evacuated by security forces. The Police specified that they were identifying the delayed persons and that they would decide later what measures to take.
