Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg joined thousands of protesters in Stockholm to condemn Israel’s genocide of Palestinians on Saturday (21/9) and urge global action.
“Israel’s genocide in Palestine is outrageous,” Thunberg said, as reported by Anadolu, Monday (23/9).
At the rally, which drew about 5,000 people in the Swedish capital Stockholm, he said he did not understand how people could see what was happening in Palestine and continue their lives without the world’s help.
Thunberg said remaining silent during genocide was complicity and underlined the importance of boycotting Israel, Israeli companies and institutions, and imposing sanctions.
The demonstration, organized by various NGOs, demanded an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and unhindered access for humanitarian aid. Protesters carried banners reading: “Children are being killed in Gaza” and “Stop the genocide,” while chanting “Freedom for Palestine.” (I-2)
