[オスロ 27日 ロイター] – Dozens of people, including Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg, blocked the entrance to the Norwegian Ministry of Energy on Monday to protest over wind farms in indigenous zones.

In 2021, Norway’s Supreme Court ruled that two wind farms in central Norway violated the rights of the indigenous Sámi people under international treaties, but they are still operating.

“I am here to support the fight for human rights and indigenous rights,” Thunberg told Archyde.com. “The Norwegian government is violating human rights and is totally unacceptable. We need to stand together in this fight,” he said.

The Sámi reindeer herders want the giant wind turbines removed, claiming they are frightening the reindeer and destroying ancient traditions. The government, on the other hand, wants to find a compromise, citing legal and political complications.
