Indonesian badminton women’s SINGLES Gregoria Mariska Tunjung admitted that she received a valuable award after advancing to the last 16 of the Denmark Open, Wednesday (16/10).

Gregoria was forced to fight hard by host representative Line Hojmark Kjaersfedlt before winning rubber games 21-18, 18-21 and 21-11 in the round of 32 match in Odense.

Regarding the course of the match, Gregoria, who was seeded fifth, admitted that Kjaersfeldt put up tough resistance, especially in the second game.

“Even though there was a rubber game, today, I learned quite a lot on the field,” said Gregoria, quoted from PP PBSI’s official statement.

“There was a fairly tight chase for points between me and Line. Luckily, in the third game, I was able to get a big lead on points, so it was very profitable for me to finish the match,” he added.

In the last 16 of the Denmark Open, Gregoria will again meet the host’s representative, Mia Blichfeldt.

“For the second half tomorrow, I will face the home team again, of course I will evaluate my game today, because there were many mistakes that I could have avoided,” said Gregoria.

“Hopefully I can be even better tomorrow in facing the match,” continued the bronze medalist at the 2024 Paris Olympics. (Ant/Z-1)
