This Wednesday, Greenpeace publishes the new version of its annual ranking of the “greenest” electricity suppliers. To do this, the NGO scrutinized the production figures, the energy mix, the purchasing and investment policy of the sixteen suppliers active on the Belgian market. And unsurprisingly, like other years, it appears that it is the small energy cooperatives which monopolize the podium: Cociter, Ecopower and Wasewind obtain a score of 20/20. In addition to the fact that the electricity provided by these cooperatives is both 100% green and local, Greenpeace welcomes the fact that they continue “to invest massively in new sources of renewable energy”.
