Vienna/Linz – The starting signal for the decarbonization of steel production in Austria: The Voestalpine Supervisory Board has given the go-ahead for the first 1.5 billion euros in investments with which classic steel production in Austria is to be replaced by electric arc furnaces. This was announced by Voestalpine boss Herbert Eibensteiner in a press conference on Wednesday.
