Greek Vice-President of the EU Parliament Arrested According to Reports – Europe

According to information from the AFP news agency, the Greek MEP and Vice President of the EU Parliament Eva Kaili has been arrested in the course of investigations into suspected corruption by a Gulf state. Kaili was arrested in Brussels on Friday evening and is now being questioned by the police, according to sources familiar with the case. Previously, there had already been four arrests in the Belgian capital in the course of the investigation. The Belgian public prosecutor is investigating suspected corruption and influence in the European Parliament. The investigation is regarding a suspected criminal organization and allegations of money laundering.
