Ohio: Greek star and world number four Stefanos Tsitsipas has filed a complaint against a female fan who tried to distract him during a tennis match. Dramatic events took place during the Cincinnati Masters tennis match.
Tsitsipas is leading the battle against American Ben Shelton. While serving in the second set, the player was swinging his racket as if to swatt a fly around him. After that, the star prepared to serve. But he did not complete it and went to the umpire.
One of the spectators behind him complained that he was making a sound like a bee buzzing. The player clarified that he is distracted and is doing this to encourage the opponent but it is becoming unbearable.
But when the umpire questioned the player, Tsitsipas replied, “Do you think there is nothing wrong with this?” The actor also stated that such an experience is the first time in his career.
Tsitsipas later asks who made the noise as he approaches the crowd. Another showed the noise maker to the woman. The player asked the umpire to throw this woman out of the stadium.
The woman who raised the issue apologized to Tsitsipas. The reigning world number four advanced to the pre-quarters after winning the match 7-6, 7-6 in straight sets.
