It was a derby that had people, passion, tension, goal posts but also a lot of nerves, as a result of which Tyson and Tasos Bakasetas faced the direct red card.
In any case, the “greens” now have the first reason to be in the final, however everything will be decided in the second leg of the Avenue next Wednesday (21/2, 19:00).
The game started with a high tempo from both sides. High pressure from both teams, attempts for combined football, but few opportunities.
In the 13th minute, from a shot by Andrija Zivkovic, Bartolomei Dragovski caught Brandon Thomas at the last moment, while the scene was repeated in the 21st minute, this time with a pass from Rafa Soares to the Spanish PAOK striker. After half an hour, the “greens” seemed to step on the pitch better.
And if in the 29th minute, following an ideal counter-attack, Sebastian Palacios did not control well and missed the opportunity for a better finish, in the 33rd minute the crucial intervention of Tomas Kenziora was needed.
