Great news for YouTube users, making shorts is now possible for everyone

If you love making YouTube shorts, now artificial intelligence (AI) technology will make it easier.

Google DeepMind’s AI video generation model Veo (Veo) is being made part of YouTube Shorts by the company.

With this AI model, users will be able to create high quality backgrounds and 6 second clips.

View was announced at Google’s annual developer conference in May 2024.

This AI model is capable of producing 1080p resolution video in multiple cinematic styles.

Earlier in 2023, the company introduced an AI feature called DreamScreen for YouTube shorts, which aimed to help users create backgrounds for videos with written instructions.

The company expects the Dream Screen feature to be enhanced with the View model and users will be able to create impressive clips.

A special feature of View is editing and remixing pre-made footage.

This is the first AI model that will allow users to create 6-second videos in YouTube shorts.

The Dream Screen feature will generate 4 images when users give written instructions by pressing Create, after which you can select an image and turn it into a video.

Such clips will be watermarked to indicate that they have been generated with AI.

According to the company, View will be made part of Dream Screen in the next few weeks.

Along with View, many new features are also being introduced in YouTube.

Jewels and Gifts will allow users to send digital goods during a live stream, a feature similar to TikTok’s Gifts feature.

The company is adding support for more languages including French, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish for the automatic dubbing feature.

Similarly, the availability of community hubs is also being expanded so that creators and their followers can stay in touch with each other.
