According to media reports, women pilgrims will also be given abaya with the Pakistani flag on the back and 13 kg suitcases will be given to all.
Caretaker Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Aneeq Ahmed highlighted the historic initiative of reducing the Hajj cost by around Rs 100,000, with another Rs 50,000 reduced and refunded to the people.
The minister also mentioned the plan to convert the city’s mosques into schools for out-of-school children with the support of the Ministry of Education, in which imams are playing an important role. Mosques will act as community centers, addressing community issues after prayers. Another project involves establishing medical clinics inside mosques with the support of the Ministry of Health.
A new mobile application has been developed to help pilgrims with navigation support and communication with the concerned authorities. Initially available in English and Urdu, the app will later include various regional languages and offer digital training programs for every Haji.
It should be noted that the National Bank has started receiving applications for Hajj 2024. Applications will be received at all branches from November 27 to December 12, 2023.
