Grayson Waller Breaks Leg in WWE NXT Match: The Story of his Injury and Road to Recovery

2023-06-27 07:00:00

Grayson Waller revealed that he broke his leg in his final WWE NXT match, which was a loss to NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes on the April 25 episode of Spring Breakin.

We noted on April 27 how Waller vs. Hayes would have been called early due to the injury that occurred when Waller hit his leg on the ropes as he tried to roll to execute his Cutter. Waller and Hayes then quickly made it to the finish with Hayes hitting Nothing But Net for the pin to save.

In an update, Waller took to Twitter today and posted a video to announce he had suffered a sharp fracture to his fibula.

Waller explained how he stole the WWE draft with a broken leg because he had more value on one leg than 99% of other wrestlers had on two legs. Waller noted that people keep asking him if he’s just a talk show host these days. Waller says if he was just a host, he’d be the greatest in WWE history, but as good as he is on the mic, he’s better in the ring.

Waller then said he had good news and bad news. The thing is, he owes the fans nothing on social media because through all the recent pain and suffering and rehabilitation, while doing everything he can to make sure he’s in the best shape of his life when he comes back, people online might ‘I don’t care. Waller said fans didn’t celebrate that he was able to be on SmackDown every week, instead they grumbled and complained that he wasn’t wrestling.

Waller then said he won’t tell us when he’ll be back, but the good news is that we’ll have an answer very soon, but it will be on his terms because it’s the Grayson Waller effect.

Waller will appear on Friday’s Money In the Bank home edition of London’s SmackDown to interview Logan Paul on The Grayson Waller Effect.
