Gratitude Expressed by Judge Aoun towards United Nations

Judge Ghada Aoun, the Public Prosecutor of Appeal in Mount Lebanon, recently expressed on her Twitter account that she hopes the resurrection of Christ would also bring justice to their country. She emphasized that judges should never feel threatened or be subjected to criminal or disciplinary measures for merely performing their duties. A statement from the Coalition for the Independence of the Judiciary also echoed this sentiment. The judge unfortunately shared her experience of facing such challenges for the past four years. She expressed her gratitude to the United Nations for their support.

The Public Prosecutor of Appeal in Mount Lebanon, Judge Ghada Aoun, tweeted on her Twitter account, writing: “Christ has truly risen. In the hope that the resurrection of Christ will also be a resurrection of justice in our country.”
“Judges should never be threatened or subjected to criminal or disciplinary action simply for doing their job” from the statement of the Judicial Independence Coalition.

She added, “Unfortunately, this is what is happening and what happened to me in particular from four years ago to date. Thank you, the United Nations!”

The tweet by Judge Ghada Aoun serves as a reminder of the importance of justice and the need for the independence of the judiciary. We hope that her words will not fall on deaf ears and that there will be a concerted effort to ensure that judges can do their job without fear of threats or disciplinary actions. The resurrection of Christ is a symbol of hope, and we can only hope that this hope extends to the justice system in our country. As we continue to navigate the challenges of our times, let us not forget that justice is an essential pillar of our society, and we must do all we can to uphold it.
