Once the European ticket is in hand and the spotlights of the Cegeka Arena can be extinguished, the KRC Genk stadium will once once more serve as a summer pop-up bar. The Arena Group, operator of football stadiums for non-sporting events, will rename the Limburg football temple to Grasserie from May 29.
Last year, a Grasserie was installed for the first time in the KRC Genk stadium. Thousands of visitors enjoyed a summer setting on the sidelines during the temporary opening period. Chill music, drinks and snacks made for pleasant followingnoons and evenings in the Cegeka Arena.
And now organization The Arena Group is returning. They will pitch their tents in Genk from May 29 to July 14. The concept remains the same, although the available outdoor space will increase somewhat. The surface area even doubles in size. In addition to the Grasserie, the stadium’s indoor facilities will also be offered. The spaces can also be rented for events.
And another extra: The European Football Championship matches, including those of our Red Devils, will be broadcast live in the stadium. Hopefully they will make it to the final!
