Grandes Moagens de Angola (GMA) received the second shipment of 85 tons of national wheat grain purchased from Novagrolíder at the Port of Luanda terminal. The understanding reached by these two Angolan companies demonstrates GMA’s interest in including national raw materials in its production, in close alignment with Government guidelines and with the aim of contributing to the dynamization of the local economy through the reduction of imports and consequent savings in foreign exchange.
For César Rasgado, administrator of Grandes Moagens de Angola, this is a historic milestone, because it highlights the company’s effort to contribute to the appreciation and much-needed diversification of the national economy. “We are, naturally, satisfied with the agreement we reached with Novagrolíder and with the fact that we can incorporate wheat grain from Angola into our production.
However, we appeal to the Government to review the VAT rate and/or other tax charges associated with the production of national wheat and the production of national wheat flour, so that we can materialize a major objective that we have had since the beginning of this project, which involves maintaining and consolidating the national wheat flour producing industry”, highlights the same person in charge.
José Macedo, from Novagrolíder, assumes the interest of the company he leads in a continued partnership relationship with GMA to boost the cultivation and production of raw materials in Angola, as well as the production of 100% Angolan flour. “For us, these first shipments signify the highly promising beginning of our wheat production, as well as the certainty that 100% national flour can be produced in Angola”, highlights José Macedo.
