GRAND Triumph 2024 is said to be the second largest indoor archery event in Southeast Asia following the number of participants approaching 1000 athletes ahead of registration closing on October 15. With its status as a prestigious event in Southeast Asia, the Barebow Division has a worthy foothold to move up to the same level as the Compound and Recurve Divisions.
“We are optimistic that we will reach 1,000 registrants from the original target of 900 participants. We had anticipated the wave of enthusiasm. “We are ready to provide the adrenaline rush of competing that is challenging, interesting and comfortable for all parties,” said Chairman of the Organizing Committee for Grand Triumph 2024 Satrio Wibowo, in his statement, Monday (14/10).
Until now, the number of participants who have registered is 981 athletes or less than 19 participants reaching 1,000. Apart from the host athletes, the 2024 Grand Triumph is also flooded with archers from abroad, such as Canada, Belgium, India, Singapore, the Philippines, Malaysia and Thailand.

Of this number, 288 athletes from the Barebow Division will compete in this event. One of them is world barebow superstar Raymond Huang, who won the 2024 Lancaster Classic, one of the most prestigious and largest indoor archery events in the world.
Other world athletes who attended included Mohd Juwaidi Mazuki, a compound athlete from Malaysia, Pattamawadee Yuenprakon, a barebow athlete from Thailand, Nutty Maneesombatkul, a compound athlete from Thailand, and the 2023-2024 national training compound athlete Prima Wisnu Wardhana, who just won a medal. gold at PON XXI 2024 in Aceh.
Meanwhile, the host archery athletes arrived from archery clubs, including 46 athletes from Pro Archery Club, 38 from Raja Rumi Archery Club, 34 from DAD Archery Academy, 25 from BCC Archery Club, and 24 from Fast Marine Archery Cluby Club.

Chairman of PB Perpani, who is also the Steering Committee for the 2024 Grand Triumph, Arsjad Rasjid, emphasized that the 2024 Grand Triumph is a new leap in efforts to revive the Indonesian archery ecosystem and place the Barebow Division on par with other archery divisions.
“By being the second largest in Southeast Asia, Indonesia has proven that it can hold world-class archery events. “We are sure that World Archery will pay more attention to Indonesia for the following international archery events,” he said.
As is known, Grand Triumph 2024 is the largest international indoor archery tournament in Indonesia, which will be held at the Jogja Expo Center (JEC) on 19-20 October 2024.
The categories contested are Recurve Open 18 m, Compound Open 18 m, Barebow open 25 m, Recurve/National Standard U-15 15 m, Recurve/National Standard U-12 12 m, and Barebow U12 10 m. (Z-6)
