A Grand Theft Auto modder claims their work was stopped by Take-Two. The modder is known as Block and in a new post on their YouTube channelthey explained that their project was no longer due to an alleged withdrawal of Take-Two.
Sentient Streets allowed players to chat with NPCs via their microphone. From cult members to cops, a player would experience different personalities and be able to respond to the player in multiple ways.
However, Bloc says that Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two, has removed their project, stating in the post on their YouTube channel that “Take-Two Interactive has hit my channel with a copyright strike on my video on GTA V mod and YouTube removed the video immediately without giving me any chance to explain. » «
The reason for this removal shown by Take-Two Interactive on YouTube was because I used their software (GTA V) in the video. Nobody from Take-Two Interactive contacted me and asked me anything before that, they just pulled the video out of nowhere. Two days ago my account on Netlify was also suspended. I used Netlify to host the mod installation guide. I communicated with the provider’s email address displayed on YouTube (which was a Take-Two email address), hoping there might be a little misunderstanding or they might explain the reasoning behind it. Maybe it happened automatically, but the evidence suggests a deliberate request for a manual DMCA takedown on their part. I haven’t received a response either. Looks like they are just attacking the mod from all fronts. »
Bloc also criticized Rockstar and the recent port of Red Dead Redemption, saying: “Rather than chasing small mods, maybe [Rockstar] should focus on creating proper remakes with better pricing policy or should stop removing cars from GTA Online to sell those same cars to people. »
