The head of the “Beirut for Social Development” and “Imkan” associations, Ahmed Hashemite, attended the opening ceremony of the new vegetable market in Tripoli, under the auspices of Prime Minister Najib Mikati, represented by Interior Minister Bassam Mawlawi, and accompanied by MP The former, Samir Al-Jisr, who represented President Saad Hariri, the Mufti of Tripoli and the North, Sheikh Muhammad Iman, and former deputies, ministers, captains, and Tripoli activists.
The opening of the market is considered one of the most prominent achievements of the “Imkan” association in Tripoli, for its participation in financing the process of organizing and operating the market, guarding and lighting it with special generators, and securing the needs for its opening and cleaning.
Hashemite considered that “the owners of the credit are the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which provided financing for the market as a gift, and President Saad Hariri, who completed his father’s approach in approving the opening of the market, and the relevant ministries and security services in Tripoli,” stressing that “the market is one of the pillars Sustainable development in Tripoli because of its project to create job opportunities for Tripolitans and support the city commercially and economically, as well as its social repercussions.
He said, “We thank the Kingdom for its donation, especially since sustainable development is part of Vision 2030, whose goals were drawn by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.”
Hashemite continued, “We will follow the stages of implementation, no matter how some try to obstruct us. The interest of Tripoli requires that the wheel of the market’s work go well, and this is also Prime Minister Hariri’s wish to start these projects.”
And he stressed that “what Imkan will do for the market for a period of 6 months is free of charge, because this project would achieve a quantum leap in the development process for Tripoli and support its people.”
