“Grand Janmashtami Celebrations Enthrall Street Performers and Spectators at Niagara Falls

Niagara ∙ Kunju Unnikannas and Radhas with flutes, peacocks and crowns enthralled the street performers of Niagara Falls. This is the first time that Janmashtami celebrations are being organized on such a grand scale in Canada. The Sobhayatra started from Murray Street around 3:30 PM. Accompanied by panchavadyam and talapoli, Shobhayatra arrived at Oaks Garden, the grandest venue in Niagara Falls. Many foreign visitors lined both sides of the streets of Niagara Falls to watch the procession and capture the sight on camera.

After the Sobha Yatra ended, Uriyadi started. When the Unnikans enthusiastically came to play, the local and foreign spectators also got excited. Panchavadya Mela was also one of the main attractions of the event. This was followed by programs presented by artists and artists from the Niagara region.

Niagara Falls City Councilor Mona Patel inaugurated the official programs on the occasion. Niagara Parks Commissioner Natasha DCNzo, President of Tapasya Niagara Rajeev Varrier and Pramod Kumar of The Canadian Homes, the main sponsor of the event, spoke at the event. Other sponsors of the event were Care 24, RN Academy, Financial Planner Deepak Ravinath, The Indian Valley Grocery Store and Four Wheel Auto and Tires.

The program was led by Tapasya Niagara, a Sanatana cultural organization in Niagara Falls. Tapasya Niagara’s board members Rajeev Warrier, Azad Jayan, Ramabhadran Sajikumar and Mohit Mohanan. Committee members Harilal G. Nair, Nidhina Arun, Sanal, Abhijith, Ananthakrishnan, Saritha Sujith, Deepak Ravinath, Manu Madhusudhanan, Jayakrishnan, Sariga Pramod, Manju Udayan, Mithun and Arsha Arjun organized the program.
