“Gran Fondo de New York – Bogotá 2023: Road Closures and Route Information”

Next Sunday, April 30, the roads of the Cundinamarca department are preparing for an exciting cycling race, called ‘Gran Fondo de New York – Bogotá 2023’, which will cover some of the main roads north of the country’s capital . As a result, road closures will be implemented in various areas and times, with the aim of guaranteeing the safety of the participants and the general public.

The cycling race will begin in the municipality of Zipaquirá (Cundinamarca) and will pass through emblematic places of Cajicá to enter the mountains of the region where they will meet the main challenges of the day, between the ‘Alto del Águila’ and the territory belonging to Pacho.

Consequently, the race organizers have worked closely with local authorities to ensure and advise that road closures will be implemented as follows:

Zipaquirá, Cajicá and Pacho (Cundinamarca):

  • 06:00 a. m a 07:40 a. m: Route 45 A/ Zipaquirá – Cajicá – Zipaquirá
    (Both senses).
  • 07:00 a. m a 08:15 a. m: Avenidas de Zipaquirá/ Calle 4, Av. Industrial, Av. 15, Carrera 19, A. 23, Carrera 7, Calle 17, Carrera 5 and Calle 10.
  • 07:30 a. m a 01:30 p. m: Departmental highway 56/ Zipaquirá – Pacho – Zipaquirá (both directions).
  • 09:00 a. m a 01:30 p. m: In Zipaquirá/ Calle 8, Carrera 3, Transversal 6, Calle 5 and Parque de la Independencia.

Thus, it should be noted that both locals and visitors must plan in advance to avoid delays in their trip. It is suggested to use alternative routes during the race and avoid driving through closed streets.
