Dayone Asset Management officially announced the acquisition of the Goyang Orion Professional Basketball Team.
Former national team coach Heo Jae was appointed as the chief executive officer who will be in charge of the overall management of the club.
After retiring from the national team manager position in September 2018, coach Heo Jae, who has been greatly loved in the entertainment industry, will return to the court following four years.
“What is certain is that you are attending as an executive, and there is a little discussion regarding whether you are the owner or the general manager…it might be the president.”
Although the title has not been decided, it is known that former coach Heo is directly involved in the composition of the team, including the coaching staff.
The task of appointing a manager to take over the helm of the new team under the leadership of former manager Huh has already begun.
Kim Seung-gi, manager of KGC Ginseng Corporation, who has won and runner-up in the last two seasons, is being mentioned as a strong candidate.
Day One plans to appoint a manager within a week at the earliest, or within a month at the latest, so that the preparations for the season, such as an FA contract, will not be disrupted.
The hometown will remain as Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, without relocation.
Meanwhile, the Orion Basketball Team, which was founded along with the launch of professional basketball in 1997, ended the 25-year Orion era and disappeared into history.
