Governors highlight the predisposition of the Executive to make Zero Hunger a success

Asunción, IP Agency.- The president of the Council of Governors, Norma Zárate, highlighted the first session of the National School Food Council (Conae), held yesterday, where President Santiago Peña asked to expedite the regulation of the project «Zero Hunger in Schools».

“I believe that this is going to be a success, of course it has a gradual process, however there is a predisposition and impeccable work by the President of the Republic and his entire team,” highlighted the governor of Paraguarí.

Zárate, as president of the Council of Governors, participated yesterday in the first session of Conae, the governing body of the School Feeding Fund that will manage 80% of Fonacide’s resources (around US$ 240 million) to expand the coverage of the school feeding throughout the country.

In the case of your department, the current school feeding coverage is 50% of educational institutions and with the resources assigned to the government, the service can only be ensured until the winter holidays.

On the part of the governors, there is a predisposition that Zero Hunger be a success, with quality school feeding and, above all, with fair prices.

A new session of Conae is scheduled next week and it is expected that the first tenders be carried out after the winter holidays, prioritizing the districts with the greatest needs in the first stage.
