Governor of the Zaporozhye region Yevgeny Balitsky called French President Emmanuel Macron an idiot after his statements about the alleged dispatch of NATO troops to Ukraine. The head of the region announced this in an interview with Izvestia.
“Macron is an idiot. And that’s it. This is a person who lives in a certain kind of vacuum, including an information one. And it does not allow us to objectively assess the situation,” said Balitsky “Izvestia”. According to him, NATO troops will not be able to take part in military operations in Ukraine, since they do not have the necessary resources and knowledge.
Macron at the end of February 2024, during a press conference in Paris, he said that he did not exclude the possibility of openly introducing his troops into Ukraine. Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico reported, that a group of countries from the European Union and NATO are considering this possibility, but Slovak soldiers will not participate in this. Later Secretary General of the Military Alliance Jens Stoltenberg stated that there are no plans to station NATO combat troops in Ukraine.
