Governor of Trujillo is reported to the ICC for threats

The lawyer and director of the Casla Institute, Tamara Sujuexplained this Wednesday that he filed a complaint with the International Criminal Court (CPI) against the governor of Trujillo state, Gerardo Márquez, for threatening civilians.

According to the human rights defender, The official linked to the administration of Nicolás Maduro indicated that in the state there are more than 80 detaineeswhile another 40 people are wanted for their alleged participation in violent demonstrations.

Those arrested, the official revealed, They will be transferred to the Tocorón prison.

In light of these events, he added, he banned the supply of food from his state to the country’s capital: “In Caracas they will die of hunger, but nothing will come out of Trujillo. Over my dead body. Whichever truck I leave, I will burn it.”

The governor of Trujillo also threatened teacherstherefore, in his opinion, “Many of them were there (at the demonstrations), betraying the Bolivarian revolution. They are screwed, they will not be charged”.

Sujú’s complaint about the governor of Trujillo was also supported by a video in which Márquez commented that he knows everything “what (the opposition) are preparing.” Faced with this, he assured that he will apply “the full weight of the law” to his political adversaries.
