Governor of North Sumatra Reminds the History of the Malay Nation Against Oppression – Alert Online

WHILE, Waspada.co.id – The Governor of North Sumatra (Gubsu) Edy Rahmayadi, conveyed that the existence of the Malay nation, especially on the East Coast of North Sumatra proved how the role of the kingdom or sultanate that existed along this coastal route accompanied the development of people’s civilization.

This was conveyed by Edy while attending Halalbihalal 1444 Hijri together, at the Tengku Rizal Nurdin Hall, the Governor’s Office, Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Saturday (29/4). According to him, the cultural heritage that has existed until now is a historical legacy and a symbol of the existence of this tribe in society.

“I want all of the Malay sultanates, from Langkat to Labuhan to unite and strengthen each other,” said the governor who was present with North Sumatra PKK chairman Nawal Lubis.

Especially for the Asahan Sultanate, Edy conveyed regarding the many historical heritages of Malay civilization, such as in Asahan Regency and Tanjungbalai City, which were once an administrative area.

Apart from that, the former Kostrad Commander has also planned how the typical Malay clothes, Teluk Belanga and Baju Kurung can be used as uniforms for employees every day of the week. So that Malay culture remains sustainable into the future.

“I ask that later we meet to discuss this (strengthening Malay culture) together, all Malay figures in North Sumatra,” said the Governor, who also conveyed Eid al-Fitr congratulations to the audience of the Asahan Sultanate extended family and the invitees.

Meanwhile, Sultan Asahan XII Tuanku Kamal Abraham Abdul Djalil Rahmadsyah Alhaj expressed his appreciation and gratitude to Governor Edy Rahmayadi for paying attention to the development of Malay culture, as well as the existence of successors to the Malay sultanate, especially Asahan.

“Thank you to the Governor who has facilitated this place for the Halalbihalal event for the Asahan Sultanate’s extended family. Hopefully we will meet once more in the next Ramadan,” said Sultan Asahan XII.

Apart from that, Tuanku Kamal also said that there are many historical relics of the empire in Asahan Regency and Tanjungbalai City. Given the position of the kingdom originating from the Iskandar Muda Sultanate in this region.

“We want the remains that still exist, such as the Palace and Grand Mosque in Tanjungbalai, to be used as cultural heritage (maintained). We have conveyed this to the local government, hopefully it can be realized. Because the condition needs improvement. Moreover, the Governor also supports this,” he concluded.(will/man/d1)
