Government suspends compulsory social immobilization in the provinces of Virú, Cangallo and Huamanga

The Executive power suspended the compulsory social immobilization that governed the provinces of Virú (La Libertad region), Cangallo and Huamanga (Ayacucho region), by means of a supreme decree published in an extraordinary edition of the official gazette A Peruvian man.

According to the device, the General Command of the National Police of Peru requested this measure because roadblocks and acts of violence and vandalism were no longer reported in those jurisdictions.

“That, considering that order is being restored in the province of Virú in the department of La Libertad and in the provinces of Cangallo and Huamanga in the department of Ayacucho, it is reasonable to suspend the mandatory social immobilization measure in the aforementioned provinces,” says the normative.

The supreme decree is signed by the President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte Zegarra, the head of the Council of Ministers, Pedro Angulo Arana, and the Ministers of Defense, Interior and Justice and Human Rights.

Death figures

The Ministry of Health (Sometimes) reported that the number of deaths in social protests in various regions of the country rose to 26.

According to the latest report from said portfolio, 9 of the deceased were reported in Ayacucho, 6 in Apurímac, 3 in Cuzco, 3 in Junín, 3 in La Libertad and 2 in Arequipa.
