New Delhi: The central government has allowed Bajrang Poonia and Vinesh Phogat, who led the protest once morest the former President of the Wrestling Federation, Brijbhushan Yadav, to train abroad. Ahead of the Asian Games qualifiers and the World Championships, both have applied to the Union Sports Ministry for permission to train abroad. The central government gave permission within twenty-four hours following the application was submitted by the athletes. Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur informed that the government will bear all the expenses including flight tickets for this.
Bajrang will be training for 36 days from tomorrow to August 5 in Igik – Kuvineshlli, Kyrgyzstan. Coach Sujeet Mann, physiotherapist Anuj Gupta and others will also accompany Bajrang. The government has sanctioned around Rs 9 lakh for Bajrang’s overseas training.
According to the information provided by the Sports Authority of India, Vinesh will train in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan from July 2 to 10 and then in Budapest, Hungary until July 28. Vinesh will be accompanied by coach Sudesh and physiotherapist Ashwini Patil. About eight lakh rupees have been allocated for Vinesh’s journey.
