Government Response to Widow’s Accusation: Undersecretary Monsalve Addresses Handling of Ojeda Moreno Case

From La Moneda, the Undersecretary of the Interior, Manuel Monsalvereferred to the accusation of the widow of the former Venezuelan military officer, Ronald Ojedawho accused that no authority has contacted her.

Let us remember that following the kidnapping, Ojeda Moreno’s body was found under a cement block in a raid in Maipú. Now, in conversation with CNN Chile, The widow commented that “no government authority has contacted me.”.

“Nobody, The municipality of Independencia was going to support us with the burial issue but what they were offering me was not something worthy.so I didn’t accept it,” he added.

Monsalve responds to the widow of Ronald Ojeda Moreno

The response came from the Government. He Undersecretary of the Interior, Manuel Monsalvehe said it is indeed like that, “but I want to remember the context in which this unfortunate and serious event occurred”.

“It is a context where The Government is practically accused of collaborating by providing eventual information to the Venezuelan Government for an intelligence operation,” he added.

Adding “then I think it is very important to remember the context that occurred in the country to also understand “Why yes or why not contact was made with the family?”.

Next, Monsalve said “at least I have not contacted the family directly. What matters to us, I want to reiterate, the Government has been available to something that I think is the center point for the family.”

The above, specifically, that “from the first minute We have made all the necessary decisions that are within the powers to collaborate in ensuring that the investigation process “allows us to determine those responsible and the motivations for this regrettable murder.”
