Government receives disbursement from Taiwan for 862 housing solutions in indigenous peoples

Asunción, IP Agency.- The signing of the record of receipt of the third disbursement of USD 2,387,830, destined for the project “Construction of 862 housing solutions for indigenous peoples”, whose total amount amounts to USD. 12,000,000, was held this Monday the 22nd at the headquarters of the National Chancellery.

The event was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rubén Ramírez Lezcano, as an honorary witness. The Minister of Urban Planning, Housing and Habitat, Juan Carlos Baruja and the ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan), José Chih-Cheng Han, formalized the signing of the minutes.

On the occasion, the chancellor stated that this disbursement guarantees the continuity of the construction project of 862 homes for indigenous peoples. There are 862 families that will experience a substantial improvement in their quality of life and will have the opportunity to build a future with safer and more dignified homes.

“This occasion highlights the essential role of ROC-Taiwan cooperation in achieving our sustainable development goals and promoting the well-being of our citizens. And, above all, I want to emphasize that this is another occasion to deepen, reinforce, strengthen the ties of friendship between Paraguay and Taiwan,” he expressed.

The ambassador reiterated that the government of his country will continue to collaborate and accompany cooperation and investments with a view to strengthening bilateral relations for the development of our people.

Minister Baruja mentioned that for the Ministry of Urban Planning, Housing and Habitat it is a very important act to receive this third donation, which is the conclusion of the housing project and that it represents great help to vulnerable families in the Republic of Paraguay and mainly to women heads of household.
