Asuncion, IP Agency.- Through motor sports, the Government seeks to position the Paraguay Brand throughout the world. In order to achieve this objective, support is provided to drivers and our country was able to host the World Rally Championship in 2025.
“This is a vision of the President of the Republic” to reposition the country, said the vice-minister of Rediex, Rodrigo Maluff. Thus, the ambassadors of the Country Brand are the drivers Joshua Duerksen and Oscar Bittar, who are the first Paraguayans to compete in Formula 2 and the Le Mans Cup, respectively.
“Joshua, with a flag on the podium, managed to get Paraguay 18 million views,” he said in an interview with Paraguay TV.
Positioning through sport also included efforts to have Paraguay host the International Automobile Federation (FIA) World Rally Championship, Confirmed on June 22nd.
He said that some 300,000 people are expected for the first edition in 2025, which will take place in the department of Itapúa. Preparations have already begun with the formation of a National Team and the first meetings with local authorities of the department and the districts that will host the competition.
Through the competition, Paraguay will showcase its tourist attractions such as the Jesuit reductions, binational dams, nature tourism and culture, he said.
