As part of its efforts to protect the economy of Salvadoran familiesthe Government has enabled 30 agricultural markets distributed across the country’s 14 departments. These supply centers allow families to purchase basic basket products at affordable prices and directly from farmers.
The initiative, promoted by the president Nayib Bukele through the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG)seeks to offer fair prices and mitigate the impact of unjustified increases and global inflation in essential products, especially in fruits and vegetables.
The MAG reported that agricultural markets are open Every day from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, becoming a key option for the economy of Salvadorans. Citizens can go to these spaces to buy wholesale or retail, guaranteeing essential products free of interest and at fair prices.
This strategy has been well received by the population, who see agricultural markets as an effective solution to the growing price crisis in the country.
