The Ministry of the Interior doubled this Tuesday the reward offered for the location of Fray Vásquez Castillo, nephew of Peruvian President Pedro Castillo, and a fugitive from justice after he was included in the open investigations against the head of state for alleged corruption.
Vásquez was listed in the Rewards Program of the Ministry of the Interior since March and they offered $3,800 for him to anyone who provides information that facilitates the capture.
However, the amount was doubled on Tuesday to 7,600 dollars, as approved by the Commission for the Evaluation of Rewards against Crime, hours after another fugitive for the same cases, former Palacio secretary Bruno Pacheco, He delivered to the Prosecutor’s Office.
In the case of Castillo’s nephew, the Prosecutor’s Office is investigating him for the alleged crimes of criminal organization, aggravated collusion, use of false documents, false statement in an administrative proceeding and influence peddling.
The president himself commented, on this day, that it was “satisfactory” that Pacheco had surrendered to justice and added that he exposed “the falsehood about the supposed protection of the Executive” to the fugitives.
The press reported on Tuesday that Pacheco had declared to the Prosecutor’s Office that the current undersecretary of the presidential office, Beder Camacho, had facilitated his escape, at the request of the president, but the official replied, before the journalists, that he had “nothing to do with with Pacheco’s escape» and is willing to clarify that version.
Castillo posted his message on Twitter after the nation’s prosecutor, Patricia Benavides, confirmed that Pacheco turned himself in to the judicial authorities, after spending more than three months in hiding.

The Prosecutor’s Office on President Castillo
The former trusted official of the president disappeared after the Second Preparatory Investigation Court ordered 36 months of preventive detention against him for alleged irregularities in the tender for the Tarata Bridge, a road work over the Huallaga River, in the jungle region of San Martín .
Pacheco resigned from his position as secretary general of the presidential office in November last year, after $20,000 in cash was found in the bathroom of his office in the Government Palace.
In the case of the Tarata bridge, the Prosecutor’s Office opened a preliminary investigation against Castillo for allegedly leading a criminal organization entrenched in the Executive to obtain illicit benefits from the contracts signed by the Ministry of Transport and Communications.
In this alleged corruption scheme, the former Minister of Transportation Juan Silva and Castillo’s nephew, Fray Vásquez, who are fugitives from Justice, would also be involved.
The secrecy of Pacheco, Silva and Vásquez unleashed a new crisis in the government last week that led Castillo to request the resignation of Interior Minister Mariano González, who had authorized the creation of a special group of the Police to support cases of the prosecutor Barreto.
